Finally out of the hotel. Quite an experience, living in a four stars hote room for 30 days and juggling through adapting into this new but old city for me: Balikpapan.

I was born at Balikpapan, almost 29 years ago.

Now I return here, and living one of many Indonesian engineers dreams: working for a multi national corporations, and the third ranked FORTUNE 500 (2007) company at that! When I started working in this branch of energy extracting industry, I was imagining slaving away in small companies the rest of my life. Why? Cause I was not the brigthest of my generation. Taking classes with my juniors when In college (I was class 98, I took classes for class 2001!), l5 months late for normal length graduation, and 9 months long spent in futile unemployment.

Now I am here, and I need to remind you all that there is a God around us. You just need to believe!

Anyway, Balikpapan is quite a city. Middle way between sleepy city and busy industrial center, a hybrid between beach city and rolling hills, and between slowgoing and fast-moving, Balikpapan tastes like Martabak: you thought it is double layered, but actually it is single layered, and put between them is a mixture of meat, vegetables, and many other things. And like Martabak, Balikpapan is delicious and safe.

Have I told you that this is one of the safest city in Indonesia?

Anyway, I now live in a room in a dorm house. It's expensive for a dorm house, but air conditioned and have its own balcony. Really, A BALCONY!

And out of the Balcony, you can view the rooftops of the houses standing on the rolling hills, breathtaking when saw at night. And just beneath my balcony is a busy street.

Very very busy street. It roars till midnight and more. It's just two laned road, but boy it roars, and I roar with it every day on my new Honda Supra 125 PGM Fuel Injection Silver Red Bike of Pride! GO GO HONSU! ROAAAAAAAAARRRR!!

60 kilometer per hour running on the rolling hills, my life has turned loud and hopefully, happy

tapi gak pa pa, gaji baru gw mencukupi kok, HAR HAR HAR!

Akhirnya aku harus kembali
mewawancarai Cinta Laura untuk kedua kalinya. Oh God! Kejam sekali produser
aku di Chek & Bechek. Padahal aku sudah siap-siap mau berangkat interview Kiki Fatmala dengan judul The Mami Returns. Tapi tak apalah, lagi pula pasti banyak sekali penonton
infotainment yang penasaran dengan berita terbaru dari the phenomenal Cinta Laura.



Dimas: "Cinta! I'm back… Apa kabar sexy?" *tersenyum manis*

CL: "Iyuuuhhh Dimyas, ghak banghet.. Am only 14… masa akhu dibilyang sexy… Iyuuuuuuuhhh."

Dimas: *merasa bersalah* "Ups maaf Cinta, tapi kamu terlihat cantik lho dengan pakaian ini."

CL: "Do you think so? Akhu sekawang pake baju iniy ghak enak bhanghet, pake high heels ghak enyak, wardrobe
iniy akhu ghak suka it's like uncomfortable at all, ini bukhan akhu
banget, akhu comboy, akhu chocok dengan jeans, basket balls, akhu itu ghak kaya chewek, ini mhomy yang maksha pakhe, biasanya akhu pake jeans yang beney-beney baggy yang besawr,
I'm gothic. Yaah, capi biaypun gak asik just smile ajha, khayak sekawrang ini aghak I'm like di dalam aghak Ughh… pleeeease!" *muka bete, mulut cumi-cuminya ditekuk*

Dimas: "Baiklah Cinta, sekarang kita ngomongin karir aja ya… Jadi Cinta,apa kendala yang kamu hadapi sebagai artis baru?"

CL: *terdiam lama* "Wait Dimyas…" *berbisik* "Mommyyyh what is kenjalaaa?!"

Mami CL: "It's problem hunny!" *berbisik kembali*



CL: "Owwww thanks Mommyh I love you….
Mommykyu kan louwyer."

Dimas: *terus hubungannya?!* "Oh…Terus gimana Cinta, kendalanya apa?"

CL: "Emmm… Nothing! Capi Cinta ingin berhenti wakcu career Cinta sedang naik, biyar tethap dikenang so kalau
oryang-oryang mengingat Cinta itu, oh my God, Cinta Laura…" *mata berbinar- binar*

Dimas: *menangis tersedu-sedu*

CL: "Wait Dimyas, Cinta belyum selesai! Menurut akhu, pendiydiykyan…. edchucation is important! Mangkannya,
di JIS… Jakartah Internasihonal Skyul, akhu gak pernah bolos."


Dimas: *duh nenek-nenek juga tau kepanjangan JIS!* "Really? Kenapa Cinta. Soalnya jarang artis pendatang baru kayak kamu mau mengutamakan pendidikan gituh…"

CL: "For me school is really-really important. Akhu ghak mau kalo ghak jadi salah sacu yang the best at
school. And thankfully aku selalu dapet straight A…"

Dimas: *tak kusangka dia sepintar ituh – tatapan curiga* "Baiklah… Eh Cinta kanjadi model video klip Mulan
JaMeelA (Janda Meelek Ahmad, red) yang terbaru kan? Kamu suka dengerin Mulan?"

CL: "Lagyunya Mulan yhang makhluk Tuhan yhang paling sexy ichu sachu- sachunya lagyu bahasya endonesah yg adha di handphone akhu… Lagyu endonesah khan biasanya mellow acau
rock githu.. capi lagyu Mulan beda. Adaarabnya, violin, rock… pokoknya kyeryen… akhu sukha!"


Dimas: *oh Cinta, coba dengerin lagu The Rock, itu rooocckkk sangat cadas sekale musiknya! Du du du…* "Oh gitu…
Emang Cinta suka musik jenis apa?"

CL: "Akhu daryi kechil sukha sekayli meusic rock! And kyoleksi tengkyoryak, its kind a cool you know! Cinta
syukanya laguw-laguw rock, such as Slipknot gitchu. Kalow meusic Endonesah Cinta kyurang syuka, because ngepop githcu deh…"

Dimas: *jambak rambut sendiri* "Terus Cinta ada rencana nyanyi gak?"

CL: "Akyu penghen jadi penyanyih seperci Mulan. Cinta kemaryin syudah nyanyi di dephan Ahmad Dhani, he had listen my voice. Katanya Ahmad Dhani, Cinta tinggal naik panggung aja."

Dimas: *W-H-A-T?! panggung lenong?

A song in high tempo by the english speaking indie j-rock band, Monoral.
The vocalist is like Laruku's Hyde: Femalish crossdressing guy with heavy voice and long smooth hair. Go figure.

The song is inspirational, with bolded words that can be your source of energy when you are down :) Definitely one of my favorite songs from Monoral, besides the mysterious *shudders* Kiri *shudders* and the downright mellow-weirdy Monkey Cage
