for everyone

Kisah mereka kurasa pantas kusharing.

Sebarkan kisah mereka !

Apocalypto will make you dazzled by the usage of its imaginary language, sheer raw violence, colossal scenes, nicely choreographed actioons, and seat-edge pushing drama.

But if you look carefully, this is nothing but chase-action movie but with jungle as backgrounds muscular feet as cars and antique arsenal as guns. The entire Mayan backgrounds are simple camouflage to disquise cliches.

But it is a well done camouflage indeed! The fictional language used are well done and well expressed by the actors and actresses (their expressions become their language). From their way of sharing jokes and pranks, to the warmth on their faces during family gathering, the romantic passions shared by husband and wives, the angers and frustations from the ravaged tribesmen, and the trances of the mayan people during some gorefest ceremony.

The choreographed actions also top-notch and believable. The savage battle between ancient tribesmen knocking each other's heads are done in perfect slo-mo or moving cameras. Even the spread and splatter of blood looks pretty.

And the photography is top notch. Although not as color-playful as my favorites, Strange Days and Death Trance, but the way the environment portrayed are nicely captured and colors are vividly saturated.

In short, this is a good movie. If only the stories told are not so cliche, then it perhaps deserves 5 stars.
